Francisco Manuel Del Valle Perez, known as Frank or Pancho to family and friends, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, at the age of 76. He was a resident of Lomita, CA.
Frank is survived by his life partner and caregiver of 30 years, Mary Lou Harris; his wife, Kathryn Ann Perez; his children, Alice Burnett, Frank Manuel Jr., and David Alexander; and his cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan, and Jakob Burnett. He also leaves behind his siblings, Rosa, Letty, Gina, Vicky, and Tony. Frank was predeceased by his sister Alex and brother Danny.
Born on March 14, 1948, to the late Manuel and Guadalupe Perez in Mexico City, Mexico, Frank immigrated with his family to Wilmington, California, where he graduated from Phineas Banning High School in 1968. He proudly served in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division for six years, earning the National Defense Service Medal and Parachute Badge. His military service was a source of immense pride throughout his life.
Frank married Kathryn Ann Christensen (Kathy) on March 23, 1969, and together they had three children: Alice in December 1969, Frank Jr. in November 1970, and David in January 1977. After 25 years of marriage, Frank and Kathy’s relationship came to an end. Though they remained separated, they never divorced. In the later chapter of his life, Frank found love and companionship with Mary Lou Harris, who cared for him with great kindness and love.
Frank will be fondly remembered for his love of family and friends, his incredible mental and physical strength, and his tireless work ethic. He had a deep passion for sports, especially his beloved LA Dodgers, and enjoyed simple pleasures like ice cream and the company of his dogs, Chuy and Fifi.
